I remember reading this somewhere, ‘Food, like money, should work for you’ and not the other way! Well, week 2 for me was all about that; ensuring that I strictly stick to my allotted macros! Taking care of my diet is all I could do on week 2 and I had to do it properly.
Week 2 of my strength training was gloomy as I got my first periods after my baby’s birth. While working out during normal periods is quite recommendable, but the same during my scenario is best avoided. First period after pregnancy is usually very severe in nature and it is best to rest your body instead of indulging in extraneous workout.
Now, this is purely my opinion. There are women who are used to exercising and hence prefer to continue with their workout schedule at all times. Some also say that Yoga and Pilates is safe and recommended during periods. So, it’s really your call against all the expert opinions. Your body, you choice! I chose to avoid weight training for the week!
While weight training took a back seat last week, I continued with light mat exercises at home to keep the momentum going. Dedicated, ain’t I? 😉
My mat exercises comprised of squats, planks, side-planks, cat and camel pose, pelvic tilt and lower back extension. All reps of 10 in 3 sets!
I also invested my time in cooking some healthy yet tasty food and strictly stuck to the diet assigned to me. The only thing I let go of was whey protein shakes as I wasn’t working out and did not see the need for so much protein. Not sure if I did the right thing. My trainer can confirm that!
My plate was filled with lots of baked meat and veggies with 100 grams of rice for the day, as recommended by my trainer. Here’s a snapshot for you all!
By the end of second week, I wasn’t expecting any change in my measurements due to the obvious! But I was pleasantly surprised! Once again, there was a tini mini tiny change, but change it was and I was a happy girl. Here’s the end of week 2 stats.

While these are the numbers, the cover picture speaks volume of the change that my body has gone through from the day I started my journey to today. I have a long way to go and there is a bigger obstacle on my way and that’s the upcoming wedding in India. If I can overcome that, then my goal will be at arm’s reach and I am going to grab it!
Like they say, the road may be bumpy but stay committed to the process and you will get there!
